The Cherry-faced Meadowhawk seen here was observed in August 2014 in Goulds. The body is somewhat brighter than the Safron-winged Meadowhawk. There is also more black showing along the edges of its tail. In some specimens the face show lighter and more red. I don't know how much of the darkness is due to my camera settings. I will be looking for more samples to add to this and all of my dragonfly postings to better illustrate the identification.
